The candidate will work with the external communications team and with our marketing partners to help develop and execute programs involving, but not limited to, public relations, media outreach, social media, and content creation. The position will primarily emphasize the Capital Markets and Valuation Advisory businesses and will also contribute to other communications priorities as needed. The successful candidate will help develop and execute communications programs that: Advance JLL’s brand positioning with our current and potential clients, influencers in our industry and with potential JLL employees Align JLL leaders’ external conversation with growth priorities and client needs Position JLL as an influential thought leader in commercial real estate This position reports to the Senior Manager of PR, Investor. Responsibilities External programs Contribute to Public Relations plans, programs and activities that support business objectives and bring the JLL brand to life across multiple channels Manage media relations by writing and facilitating approval and distribution of news releases, pitching story ideas, both verbally and in writing, and preparing JLL spokespeople for interviews Work with media contacts and develop new relationships to ensure we are ahead of content requirements and editorial calendars Partner with stakeholders across the business to develop story ideas and articles for external media, JLL.com and JLL social channels Ensure all external communications and messages protect the firm’s reputation and are consistent with JLL’s branding initiatives, marketing messages, media policies and relevant internal communications; recognize, elevate and manage crisis issues effectively Support the campaigns team on content initiatives to increase the visibility of the business Produce materials that promote executive visibility, including bylines and personal LinkedIn page content Provided logistics support on virtual/live events and town halls Manage reporting efforts for external communications initiatives Scan the external marketplace for leading practices, approaches, tools and techniques that enable conversations with clients, media and internal employees Explore speaking opportunities, awards and other outlets to increase JLL’s visibility with targeted audiences Relationship Management Develop relationships with key contacts at all levels of JLL’s business Manage productive relationships with internal partners to the business (such as marketing, research, internal communications, brand, digital, etc.) at regional, national, and global levels Candidate profile Key education, experience and competencies required for the position include: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing or related field 5-8 years of communications or writing experience with an emphasis on public relations within hospitality, commercial real estate, professional services or related field preferred Has delivered successful communication and awareness campaigns Exceptional communicator—verbally and with writing and editing skills adaptable to traditional media, social media and brand journalism with a demonstrated understanding of how to tailor messages to different audiences Adept at building and managing positive relationships and cultivating trust; possesses a strong personal brand Media pitching and presentation skills; familiarity with AP style Demonstrated success and passion for collecting and using qualitative and quantitative insights to drive decisions Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize high impact activities Demonstrates risk assessment skills; operates with discretion and confidentiality Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Self-starter; assertive and proactive yet a strong team player; resourceful navigator of a complex organization Detail orientation with an emphasis on content accuracy Proven ability to participate in and influence cross-functional teams Excellent interpersonal skills including high energy level and poise to interface with and counsel the firm’s top clients and senior management Skilled in Microsoft Office Applications, social media and media-monitoring database tools Prior management experience a plus #LI-HB What you can expect from us We succeed together and believe the best inspire the best, so we invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our success.
