The purpose of this position is to provide direction and administration to all departments of Urology Austin to ensure smooth daily operations. The COO leads and participates in strategic and operational planning, coordination, and implementation of operational and clinical services as determined by the Market President and physician partners of Urology Austin.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
- A minimum of 5 years of Practice Administration in Urology experience required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and person integrity
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration required.
- Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
- Ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Market President in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels.
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met
- Directs and supervises Site Managers and all other department managers.
- Ensures development and establishment of policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensures their adequate execution, compliance, and updates.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Evaluates general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues and keeps the governing body fully advised on these matters.
- Formulates and implements policies and objectives, both short and long range, for activities consistent with company guidelines. Ensures compliance with implementation of policies and objectives.
- Maintains responsibility for department heads of Clinical Research, Data Assurance, Chronic Care Management, Chronic Catheter Program, Radiation Center, Laboratory, and Physical Therapy.
- Coordinates with CAO and Assistant Vice President of Clinical Development in or producing feasibility studies/business plans for new ancillary services.
- Within scope of authority, ensures the development of systems (both manual and automated) to properly support practice-wide activities based upon business need. Directs the coordination of hardware and software requirements of existing and future systems.
- Directs the development and implementation of organizational procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
- As necessary, delegates portions of activities, responsibilities, and authorities to organizational staff, departmental supervisors, and unit supervisors. Ensures that responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinates and unit supervisors are deemed and understood.
- Ensures adherence to legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting OSHA, EEO, TEFRA, ERISA, and Wage & Hour laws. Continually monitors exposure of the organization. Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.
- Ensures the best interests of organization employees in accordance with policies, procedures, and governmental laws and regulations.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry out functions of practice.
- Prepares periodic reports as necessary or required.
- Ensures compliance and adherence to the organization’s structure, management philosophy, and mission statements.
- All other duties as assigned.
