What’s the job?

Urban Surfaces looks to our amazing Driver team members to provide excellent customer service while taking on the responsibility of final mile deliveries, order fulfillments, and preparation of vinyl flooring orders to be shipped and delivered. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner aiming at increasing customer satisfaction and profitability. The ideal candidate will become part of the team, as well as possess a willingness to assist in all aspects of the business.

Pay: Starting pay between $18-$21/hour, based on experience. Paid bi-weekly on Fridays.

Training: We will provide paid training on our trucks, forklifts, and all other machines required for the position.

When do we need you?

Monday through Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

Delivery Driver Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Utilize a company-provided truck to deliver company products to different addresses and through different routes
• Follow route and time schedule
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle
• Ask for feedback on provided services and report clients’ complaints
• Complete logs and reports
• Follow traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety standards
• Ability to operate forklifts, liftgate, and electric pallet jacks in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
• Check to see if the package is damaged
• Monitor traffic conditions to avoid delays

Warehouse Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):

• Sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves, bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product using a sit-down forklift
• Pulling material from sales orders and assembling customer orders from stock
• Preparing shipments to be shipped; uses proper packaging techniques and follows established methods for protecting products during shipping as noted in quality work instructions
• Mark materials with identifying information, barcodes, scan barcodes, and record amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Assist in the samples department by cutting, labeling, and/or packing samples of our products
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

•  MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE DRIVING A 16' FOOT TRUCK WITH A LIFTGATE OR LARGER
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have had your driver’s license for a minimum of 4 years
• Clean DMV record is a must
• Current valid driver's license
• Ability to interpret maps and global positioning systems (GPS) devices.
• Ability to operate a smart-phone device
• Positive & energetic attitude
• Excellent communication skills preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs (occasionally while going up flights of stairs)
• Ability to handle unfavorable weather conditions

Physical Demands: The work requires long periods of sitting as well as long periods of standing and walking. It also requires repeated lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds (all may be performed while occasionally walking up flights of stairs), as well as bending, and stretching. Must be able to work in unfavorable weather conditions such as heavy winds, rain, and extreme heat.

Working Environment: To perform job duties associated with delivery drivers, employees will be provided with a company truck, mobile device, forklift, and other machines/devices required for the position. Drivers may be switched between company trucks depending on routes assigned for the day. Job duties associated with warehouse duties will mostly be performed in a warehouse attached to a 2-story office.
