The Port Authority of NY & NJ is currently seeking anStructuralEngineer to support the JFK Redevelopment projects at the Port Authority facilities at JFK Airport.
Under the supervision of the Design Standards Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for reviewingstructuraldesign documents for JFK Redevelopment projects at the Port Authority facilities in compliance with applicable code and Port Authority technical standards. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Analyzing and reviewing drawings,structural calculations, specifications, reports, and studies for compliance with codes and standards;
• Transmit comments to the Line Departments;
• Attend meetings with tenant Architect/Engineer of Records to discuss the review comments and resolve the issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

The potential candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree instructuralengineering
• Minimum of five (5) years of diverse experience in buildingstructuralsystems design
• Professionalengineeringlicense in State of New York and/or New Jersey
• Knowledge of applicable construction codes and their reference standards in City of New York, New York State, and State of New Jersey
• Proper understanding ofengineeringdisciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities
• Interpersonal and effective communication skills, both oral and written, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a decision-making capacity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ten (10) years of diverse experience in buildingstructuralsystems design

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is subject to approval by the Port Authority.

Must be willing to work on site at Project Office located at JFK Airport.
