Upward Projects Restaurant Group is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Phoenix, AZ

Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary responsibilities of this role is to ensure all employees across multiple states in the Company are paid efficiently, accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations and support the restaurants and other departments as needed with payroll questions.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST 

  • Access reporting to complete labor exports and data-analysis.
  • Prepare, import, validate, and audit payroll data from time clock systems.
  • Validate and record tips paid out.
  • Process and audit PTO requests and sick pay for both exempt and non-exempt employees 
  • Execute any legislative changes to minimum wage, sick pay, and payroll taxes
  • Ensure all payroll tax filings are completed and accurate.
  • Coordinate and process any W2 requests from employees.
  • Enter income withholding orders.
  • Input garnishments and monitor and verify that payments have been received.
  • Assist with reporting payroll for workers compensation insurance.
  • Process any per diem, bonus, advances, or deductions requests for employees. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (local, state, federal).
  • Assist with 401K retirement service tasks

Requirements

  • This role is on-site at the Main Office, Monday through Friday. 
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in multi-state payroll processing is preferred.
  • Experience with outsourced payroll processing software is preferred 
  • Highest level of discretion, confidentiality, and sensitivity is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is preferred
  • Associates degree is preferred
  • Experience with Paylocity is preferred.
  • Experience with restaurant payroll processing (e.g., tips) is preferred
  • Experience with California payroll is preferred
