Job Description

As our Accounting Specialist you are responsible for carrying out daily, monthly, and annual financial activities to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience. As a strong communicator and skilled financial professional, you will make it your mission to streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Can include but are not limited to:

  • Accounts receivable and payable
  • Collections activity
  • Updating daily transaction records
  • Resolving account discrepancies and performing account reconciliations
  • Maintaining records of invoices and tax payments
  • Preparation and/or review of certain tax returns and submitting payments
  • Assist with preparing income statements, balance sheets, and budgets
  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting relevant financial data
  • Assist with preparing financial reports
  • Provide backup to other department staff, to include payroll back up
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in finance administration
  • Evaluating and optimizing financial controls and procedures
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Other duties as assigned

Summary of Qualifications

  • Strong customer service experience with a customer-centric focus
  • Experience in the staffing industry preferred but not required
  • A minimum of three to five years' experience
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, to include Sage and QuickBooks
  • Advanced proficiency in payroll/HRIS software programs, specifically ADP Workforce Now
  • An advanced understanding of bookkeeping, AP, AR and payroll processes and procedures to include standards and regulations
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Resourceful, strategic problem-solving ability with a fun, positive “can do” attitude and fun sense of humor
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast-paced setting with excellent attention to detail and the belief that no task is too big or too small
  • Superb communication skills (oral and written) with a confident, concise, clear and compelling style with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, executives and managers
