Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

The Pallet Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and separating pallets that are in need of repair and placing them on the line ready to be picked up by the forklift in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform other duties as assigned. Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner, that meets company safety standards. Manually lift 70 lbs. pallets from a stack to a rolling line.
• Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner, that meets company safety standards.
• Manually lift 70 lbs. pallets from a stack to a rolling line, in addition, lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the machine.
• Ensure that proper inspection and separation is met.
• Conduct physical inventories as required.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
• Comply with OSHA Standards.
• Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
• Comprehend basic math.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions
• Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required for extended periods of time to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch (by bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spine), maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling. The employee may be required to pull (using upper extremities to exert force in order to haul or tug objects in a sustained motion) or remove inventory from shelves, lift up to 50 pounds (group lift up to 70 pounds), raise objects from lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position-to-position, climb ladders and use forklift machines. Must wear goggles, gloves and vest when required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in a non-heated/air-conditioned warehouse throughout all seasons and is subjected to outside environmental conditions. Workers are required to adhere to strict safety regulations.
