As the leader in revolutionizing how Americans move from one home to another, the Updater marketing team stays pretty busy. We determine how all 3 Updater brands (Updater, Dolly, and MoveHQ) show up in the market and we ensure that our products and services shape the relocation industry. Out of the 12 million US households who moved last year, 25% of them interacted with our technology.

A typical day will include leading our B2B event marketing strategy and executing successful in-person and virtual events. You will create content to support those events, create social media content, and tackle ad hoc marketing projects to support Updater's growth. You will support the marketing team in building brand awareness, driving sales, and fostering relationships across our various industries. We’re building a brand and products that change the way entire industries operate and this role will be a key contributor to that mission.

You will have the opportunity to add immediate value through content creation across various mediums and platforms, event planning and execution, and our team will help you grow into more advanced marketing functions like strategy, program leadership, product marketing, and more. This role is split between events (approximately 50%) and creating content (approximately 50%). Content creation will include social media posts (event-related and other), blog posts, email copy, presentations, and case studies, just to name a few. You will work on the Marketing team and partner closely with our B2B Marketing Lead, who is flexible, and adaptable to what the team needs. You’ll have a true partner to help you reach your professional and personal goals. 

About the Role

  • Plan, manage, and attend Updater industry and customer events
    • Logistics (booth selection, contracts, visuals, lead generation, internal communication, staffing plan, talking points)
    • Travel up to 20%/approx 1 event/mo
    • Marketing content creation
  • Writing social media copy
  • Social media management
  • Website copywriting & publishing
  • Interviewing customers and creating compelling copy from those interviews
  • Video editing 
  • This role is a full time, permanent role - it is not a contract
  • This is not a role that we are able to offer sponsorship for, so candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • This role is remote, but candidates need to be US based

About You

  • 1 year in marketing and content creation with proven event execution
    • blog posts, emails, social media, ebooks/white papers, ad copy
  • B2B SaaS experience - in house or agency
  • Copywriting experience (w/writing samples or portfolio)
  • Event marketing, communications, and execution (including attendance) experience
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Strong communication skills and proven history of working with a variety of departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Live in close proximity to a major airport to attend events as necessary
