Updater is having continued growth across our 3 brands and we are looking to add an experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to grow and lead the FP&A team. In this role, you will get to create the framework for and lead the FP&A team, hire additional team members that will own specific divisions, establish a regular business review process, set monthly and quarterly OKRs, and prepare the company to be ready for our next phase of growth.

You might love this role if you have experience building and reviewing highly complex models, developing a team that sets the gold standard for financial modeling, you know how to distill complex financial data into digestible outputs and analyses for use across the organization, and you want true ownership of your team and function. This role will be both strategic and hands on; the team is currently small, but will grow under your leadership. You will report to and work closely with the Vice President of Finance and Business Operations who is looking forward to partnering with you to build, believes in transparency, and is focused on creating a space to allow you to manage your time and efforts. 

About the Role

• Lead and grow the FP&A team
• Create financial models
• Crete processes, select a CPM vendor, and begin to integrate all forecasting and planning into one platform
• Establish a regular business review process, set monthly and quarterly OKRs
• Leverage financial literacy to guide business leads to make better decisions, providing guidance to Investors and Executive Leadership

About You

• 10 years of strategic finance, operational finance, or FP&A at a high-growth start-up or well-established company
• 5 years of team management experience. Building and developing a team in something you are passionate about.
• 2 years in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or similar experience
• Have experience building and reviewing highly complex models, and developing a team that sets the gold standard for financial modeling. You know how to distill complex financial data into digestible outputs and analyses for use across the organization
• Have experience owning budgets for major functional areas within an organization, and working with operators on day-to-day execution to achieve targets.
• You are equally comfortable being hands on and strategic to grow with an organization
