General Summary:

A Digital Transformation Specialist II specializes in guiding and facilitating the process of adopting and integrating digital technologies to fundamentally enhance and improve business operations, strategies, and outcomes.
This role is critical in helping businesses leverage the power of digital advancements to stay competitive, streamline processes, and meet evolving customer expectations.
You will immediately support digital transformation efforts in direct support to Colonial Life acquisition and administration activities, but may be asked to provide broader support across business functions and Unum Group brands.
Change Management:
Fostering a digital mindset and ensuring all stakeholders are aware of and supportive of the digital transformation process can help you steer and drive organizational change.
Continuous Improvement:
Provide systems for continuing assessment and enhancement of digital tactics and applications while staying current with new developments in technology and market trends to help the Unum stay ahead of the curve.
Process Mapping:
create visual representations or diagrams of a series of activities, tasks, and steps involved in a particular business process. Process mapping provides a clear and comprehensive view of how a process functions, illustrating the sequence of activities, decision points, inputs, outputs, and the overall flow of work.
Collaboration and Communication:
Maintain close ties with different teams and departments to promote cooperation and guarantee that digital projects are in line with overarching company goals, and effectively communicating with stakeholders, updating them on the developments, advantages, and effects of projects aimed at digital transformation.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent relevant business experience.
  • 4 years experience delivering value to customers through problem solving, analytics, and/or digital assets, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to dive deep into complex systems and metrics and understand the business context behind the data and technology, continuously striving to find deeper insights.
  • Experience with conducting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research and turning the results into actional recommendations.
  • Experience executing on continuous improvement projects while building partnerships across business and development teams to drive digital solution changes.
  • Demonstrates strong focus on quality delivery and delighting customers; holds self to high standards of delivery
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills with ability to effectively present to those in leadership positions.
  • Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.
  • Demonstrates digital acumen and computational thinking while transforming technology to a digital experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Unum’s Customer Journey and the Customer Life Cycle. This includes: Customer Interviews, Focus Groups, Collecting Data
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks; work under minimal supervision

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of both the external marketplace trends as well as existing internal processes to recommend and influence actional recommendations.
  • Understanding Voice-of-the Customer (VoC); identifies opportunities through surveys, customer interviews and focus groups. Will leverage digital based technology solutions to improve business performance and improve CSAT.
  • Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of of the operational area of assignment as well having a broader understanding of other functional areas.
  • Lead project management activities with a focus on utilizing data driven analysis to drive outcomes that will improve customer experience and operational readiness for digital solutions.
  • Leveraging complex data models to tell a story, effectively present and influence varying levels of leadersip on innovative digital solution recommendations
  • Embrace and seek out learning opportunities to increase both technical and operational knowledge of the industry and company.
  • Mentor associate digital transformation specialist.
  • Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems in a way that maximizes the customer experience and improves operational efficiencies
  • Independently identifies and executes on work items with little to no guidance from manager.
  • Establishes strong, effective and collaborative partnerships with key business area leaders, project managers and subject matter experts to identify specific business opportunities or to address business needs or problems and help build effective solutions.
  • Support assigned business area by building an understanding of the strategic direction and goals of the assigned area.
  • Builds complex data driven cost benefit analysis to present ideas to manager and leaders.
  • Collaborates closely with Product Owners, IT professionals and business area SME’s.
  • Continuously research emerging trends in digital technology solutions.
  • Thinks with the mind of the end customer at all times, ensuring solutions seek to improve the customer experience and delight their customers.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$73,300.00-$143,300.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
