Lead Product Designer

The Unqork Product Experience (PX) team is a collective of designers, researchers, and product and design operations specialists united on a mission to expand participation in the software development process. We’re looking for a systems-minded designer to lead projects, establish the design process and define strategy in a problem space.

What You'll Do:

  • You will report to the Head of Design.
  • Manage, guide and mentor designers on all aspects of design - from methodologies to execution.
  • Inspire the design team and the broader stakeholder teams with long-term vision and strategy.
  • Work with the user research team to define research objectives, write research plans and conduct research and be able to use the findings to inform design decisions.
  • Partner and collaborate with product management and engineers to support feature prioritization, ideation, problem-solving, and launch activities.
  • Create journey maps, user flows, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to define and communicate end-to-end user experiences.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and problem-solving sessions between Engineering, Product, Marketing and UX, to define design directions.

What You'll Bring:

  • 8 years experience in Product Design at a digital product company.
  • An up-to-date portfolio or a case study demonstrating design philosophy, process, and strategic highlights, in addition to end-to-end delivery of a highly complex project.
  • Experienced in articulating design decisions to partners and crave feedback to help produce your best work.
  • A foundational understanding of UX/UI principles and has the ability to evangelize and use research to drive design decisions.
  • Establish priorities that find the balance between benefiting our users, business, team, and all of Unqork.
  • Proficiency with various design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Abstract, Framer, Principle, Adobe After Effects)

Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of people management experience, demonstrating ability to hire and foster growth.
Experience in inclusive and accessible design.
