POSITION OVERVIEW

The Social Media Manager develops, coordinates, and executes creative digital media initiatives that support the mission and goals of USAC. This position is responsible for identifying and executing digital marketing growth opportunities, developing social content and strategy, and monitoring user engagement and social campaign performance.

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, exempt position

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Content Strategy, Development, and Tracking – 80%

  • Creates and manages voice- and tone-appropriate creative content for social media channels using best practices for audiences and cadence
  • Coordinates editorial requirements including SEO knowledge, content categorization and structure, distribution, and measurement
  • Creates and manages assets related to digital channels, including social videos and graphics
  • Works with internal and external partners to grow scalable micro-influencer program
  • Develops targeted and comprehensive social media plans for program locations and general engagement growth
  • Develops benchmarks and KPIs, tracks and reports quarterly on digital conversions, engagement, and bottom-line ROI
  • Adheres to AP style and USAC-specific style and brand
  • Leads the monitoring and reporting of campaign performance and proactively communicates any issues
  • Works closely with Advancement and Engagement team to align digital goals to overall communications plan

Market Research and Data Analysis – 20%

  • Conducts and compiles market and SEO research on industry terms and trends
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports the performance of digital content platforms for growth and engagement opportunities
  • Creates presentations to provide insights and analysis

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism
  • However, any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
  • Creative writing experience is preferred
  • Experience in audience growth in all major social media platforms where USAC has a presence, such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  •  2 – 4 years of experience developing and managing creative content
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Professional competency with Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite.
  • Professional competency with Canva or other design program
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Working knowledge of digital analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Working knowledge of social media planning tools (e.g. Hootsuite)
  • Experience with content planning and editorial calendars

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The duties of this job are mainly performed in a remote environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
