The Operating Room Internship is designed to provide the intern with basic OR circulating skills and knowledge by rotating through each of our Operating Rooms.
The Operating Room Internship is a paid, supervised program for new graduates and experienced nurses. At the completion of the Operating Room Internship, the intern will be hired into one of the Operating Rooms within our healthcare system. Upon hire and prior to starting the program, the employee will be required to sign a committment contract.

This Operating Room Internship is a great opportunity for registered nurses without OR experience to gain that experience and break into this field. We are a great place to learn OR nursing because we continually add new procedures and equipment. You never stop learning here at University of Utah Health! This position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to State Law.
