Position Summary | The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center’s Department of Pathology is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, collaborative individual with excellent computer and communication skills. Pathology plays a vital role in the clinical care of UNMH patients as it is the science of the cause and effects of diseases. The Administrative Assistant 2, working in conjunction with other departmental and ancillary staff, will help support faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, and staff with their clinical, research, and educational needs. Working in the executive administrative office of the department, this individual will be assisting the Department Chair and Department Administrator with scheduling, document preparation, meeting note taking, and special projects in addition to other job duties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about collaborating with others to meet the goals of the department as well as the University. Coworkers are talented, hardworking, and caring people who work each day to make a difference. Collaboration with these team members, to find the best solutions to challenging issues in a fast-paced environment, is expected. Working Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm with no weekends scheduled this is a great opportunity to establish a working relationship with high-level leaders and contribute to the overall efficiency of our organization. There may be occasional over time or a flexible schedule may be required to meet deadlines/coordinate special events. Job duties may change as departmental needs dictate. A hybrid schedule combining on-site and telecommuting may be available once training is completed. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
