Position Summary
The Detroit Collaborative Design Center (DCDC) is a multidisciplinary, nonprofit design center located in the University of Detroit Mercy’s School of Architecture. DCDC exists to bring high-quality and community-engaged design to all neighborhoods in Detroit. We do this by engaging, educating and promoting equity in design processes and outcomes. DCDC is seeking qualified candidates with a background in architecture and/or urban design or city planning. The Designer will be an integral part of the DCDC team and will work collaborative with DCDC project teams and community partners on architecture, urban design and landscape design projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Professional degree in architecture and/or urban design or city planning.
Zero to two years of professional experience working in the architecture and/or urban design or city planning field.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional degree in architecture and/or urban design or city planning.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings. (For DCDC this includes site visits and field measurements of existing lots and buildings, site visits for landscapes and buildings while under construction, organizing and attending outdoor community events, etc.)

Anticipated Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Some evenings and weekends as required.
