The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work has an exciting opportunity for a Program Specialist to join their team.The Program Specialist will be an administrative professional performing administrative and technical duties related to the support of grant funded initiatives designed to grow the behavioral health workforce and improve treatment outcomes for underserved populations. The Program Specialist will provide program coordination and support to grant-funded initiatives within the Behavioral Health Workforce Integration Service Education (BHWISE) program UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development. For additional information on protocols and exemptions, please visit theCOVID-19 website. *Essential Functions* * Participates in general project planning and direction to develop and facilitate the day-to-day activities and events for the funded projects. * Coordinates activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives for specified program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations, or other specifications. * Prepare or assist in preparation of funding grant proposal and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors for the program. * Coordinates activities such as survey completion, grant submission reviews, and other scheduled activities. * Monitor and facilitate use of program funds to support program goals and needed resources. * Monitors and evaluates program operating policies and procedures and metrics. * Assists in conceptualization, development, and preparation of written products such as training materials, website content, final progress reports, and promotional materials. * Maintains the websites for the projects by ensuring that content is relevant and current. * Assists with the development and implementation of recruiting plan for program participants. * Promotes the visibility of the projects as well as various promotional materials relevant to the work of the projects. * Assists with compilation of information in selection of student participants. * Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings or conferences, coordinate logistics, scheduling and participant communication. * Coordinates data collection, prepares meeting minutes, keeps records of program activities, and prepares reports as needed for management. * Interacts with internal and external stakeholders of the university and projects; Handles sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion. * Remains current with and maximizes the use of technology for efficient processing, generation of reports, and the like. * Thinks critically about all aspects of the program to resolve questions and make decisions related to the program. * Performs other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals and activities of the projects. Education:Bachelor's degree required. MSW strongly preferred Experience:Two (2) years administrative or program coordination experience. Administrative or program coordination experience with multiple projects/grants preferred. Other:Related experience to program may be substituted for education. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* * Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds * Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets. * Ability to work independently under minimal supervision * Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members * Skill in relevant PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) * Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgement with an ability to solve problems and make sound decisions. * Ability to multitask and prioritize ongoing and new projects. * Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of people internal and external to the organization. * Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes. /The Hiring Range for this position is in the mid $50,000s to mid $60,000s, commensurate with education and experience./ UMB is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
