University Hospital, Newark NJ is Hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant Near Newark, NJ

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of Ophthalmic Assistant is to provide basic level technical support to the Ophthalmology Clinics, Faculty and Residents, and to perform various services, as directed, to facilitate patient care and efficient clinic operation.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Credentials required: 1) JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology) Certification at the Ophthalmic Assistant level. If candidate does not have the certification must obtain within one (1) year of hire as Ophthalmic Assistant. Current certification in a related field considered for substitution. This substitution is made on a case-by-case basis. Examples of acceptable certificates are optometry, surgical technology, or foreign medical graduate with experience in Ophthalmology. 2) Current CPR Certification.
