Department BSD NEU - Gomez Lab About the Department The Department of Neurology at The University of Chicago Medical Center has a great history and tradition, having made significant contributions to neurological training, clinical care, and the basic understanding of neurological disease. Job Summary The job compiles, documents, analyzes, and reports on clinical research data. Provides input to support the strategic, administrative, operational, and financial decisions that impact clinical research conducted across the University. Responsibilities Analyzes, facilitates and participates in the daily activities of multiple moderately complex clinical research studies and performs all aspects of clinical data management, including patient data retrieval, referring MD office records, preparing clinical research charts, and participation in program audits. Serves as coordinator and primary point of contact for multi-site conferences and workshops related to relevant projects. Participates in all study-related patient visits. Uses understanding of clinical trials to collect and store patient data, inclusive of cognitive assessments, radiology scans and other related reports, in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Responsible for database management across multiple sites for research studies as necessary, regularly performing quality assurance reviews, and assigning queries to other sites/site coordinators. Troubleshoots and resolves a range of problems relating to the administration of the regulatory compliance (e.g., protocol/study document amendments), financial and operational aspects of multiple clinical research projects. Assists the Principal Investigator(s) in abstract/manuscript preparation and submission for publication. Prepares program conference lists for multidisciplinary conferences and workshops. Participates in all pharmaceutical site visits. Uses moderate understanding of clinical trials to collect and store patient specimens, radiology scans and reports. Solves a range of straightforward problems relating to the administration of the compliance, financial and other related aspects of a clinical study. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. --- Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. --- Certifications: --- Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field. Experience: 2 - 5 years of prior clinical research experience. Demonstrated experience coordinating neuroscience-based clinical trials across multiple sites. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant medical terminology related to neurological diseases and disorders. Preferred Competencies Ability to build and utilize knowledge of the organization, processes, and relevant stakeholders to execute projects effectively. Ability to multi-task on deliverables for multiple projects, prioritizing urgent action items as appropriate. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and ability to absorb/understand large amounts of information quickly.
