Pay Grade/Pay Range: 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 31,003.60 Midpoint - $ 45,302.40

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm

Job Summary: The Events Coordinator directs the planning, implementation, execution, follow-up and budget of events occurring both on and off campus. This position is demanding and vital to the overall image of the assigned area in terms of attracting financial resources, quality students, corporate participation, and external support. Duties may include: conceptualization of event theme; creation of invitation lists; site selection; seating arrangements; inventory management; negotiating with florist, caterers, hotel sales directors and print shops for maximum cost containment; management of on-site contract staff, clerical support and student assistants; development and management of event budget.

Additional Department Summary: The Events Coordinator directs planning, implementation, execution and budget of events occurring both on and off campus for the College of Education. This position also creates and maintains files for alumni, development and public relations purposes. It also coordinates the visit of lecturers including travel, contracts and financial forms and maintains inventory of promotional materials and special events items.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in events to include planning, directing, budgeting and promotion; OR an associate's degree and at least four (4) years of experience in events to include planning, directing, budgeting and promotion; OR a high school diploma or GED and at least six (6) years of experience in events to include planning, directing, budgeting and promotion; OR Master's degree or higher. Related student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Work will require occasional weekends, evenings and travel. May be required to travel alone out of town, sometimes overnight. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: The coordinator role in the College of Education is vital to the overall success of planning, executing and disseminating information about the College of Education. This includes event planning, content, and social media strategies concerning all events related to the College of Education. This role will direct the planning, implementation and execution of the College of Education events on and off campus. The position requires professionalism, organization, creativity, attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work well with others; an interest in working with college students; the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. Must attend communication meetings, conferences and training associated with the University Strategic Communication and the College of Education.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer experience working with ‘Adobe Creative Suite’. Bachelors in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
