As a member of the Iowa Emergency Medical Association's 2018 Career Service of the Year, you will be joining other healthcare front-line staff in providing excellent care to our communities during a national pandemic. The organization has currently purchased four new F450 ambulances which are equipped with a stryker powerload system, LUCAS devices, Zoll monitors, and parapac ventilators. Responsibilities

• Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate prehospital medical care.
• Adapts and adjusts the patient’s care plan according to the patient’s needs in the prehospital setting.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Carries out high quality patient care while following the scope of practice set out by the State of Iowa Public Health Department Bureau of EMS and this ambulance service.
• Must be able to transport a behavioral health patient utilizing an ambulance or secure car.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.

Valid chauffer’s driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Current Iowa certification as an EMT.

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
