As a Senior Software Engineer, you will partner with United healthcare Benefit Operations to engineer member and provider-facing products that will improve the quality of UHC's service experience. You’ll work with our engineering teams and partners within Optum technology to execute our technical vision. Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in all phases of end-to-end software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing and follow Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every 2 weeks
• Develop:
  • Web App components using React, Node JS and other software development tools and technologies
  • Webservices using Spring Boot, GraphQL, Quarkus or other using patterns, integration/collaboration concepts, and technologies such as Serverless FaaS, Microservices, Micro UI, event streaming
  • Unit and integration tests for all written software programs and components. Follow test driven development approach
  • Infrastructure as code and deployment automation
  • Review code and transfer knowledge according to established team processes
  • Document and communicate design and application code specifications and details to other team members
  • Adapt to new programming languages, methodologies, platforms and frameworks to support the business needs

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of programming and software development life-cycle experience
• 2 years of web service API development experience
• 2 years of experience TypeScript/JavaScript, and/or Python development
• 2 years of experience Spring Boot with Java

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with setting DevOps and CI/CD standards
• Experience Cloud/Distributed architecture design patterns
• Experience in contributing without much supervision
