The Data Engineer is responsible for analyzing and developing data solution as well as gathering technical requirements related to the GO Community and States Business Control and Automation. This person will be writing SQL codes, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Function, SSIS Packages, and schedule ETL jobs for the automation. When there is a production issue, this person will trouble shoot the issue and provide solutions. This person will attend scrum meetings and continue to communicate the project progress. Every day is different, there’s no day that’s the same. 

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create SQL codes, stored procedures, triggers, and function for building SSIS packages for automation process 
  • Build and schedule automation solution to resolve business process 
  • Work with Business Analyst to understand the business needs 
  • Assist Report Developer in creating reports and resolve data discrepancies 
  • Follow Agile software development lifecycle 
  • Use source safe to store codes and packages 
  • Document process to allow disaster recovery

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in MIS, IST, Computer Science, or Business with a concentration/minor in Information Systems OR 4 years of equivalent Data Engineer experience 
  • 5 years of experience with analyzing data 
  • 4 years of experience in writing and developing SQL queries and Stored Procedures 
  • 2 years of experience in creating SSIS packages in Visual Studio 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in relational database 
  • Knowledge of C# 
  • Knowledge in healthcare IT 
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tool 
  • Knowledge of Facets database

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
