Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initiates Clinical office operations and assists physicians with a wide range of healthcare services and procedures. Provides daily supervision of the support staff for the clinical area to ensure the smooth operation of the office
  • Oversees the daily clinical flow, schedules and functions, ensuring all site medical assistants provide quality medical treatment. When needed, train other medical assistants to improve performance and skill
  • Escort patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKG’s
  • Administer injections and collect specimens
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software
  • Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork as needed

This is a full time position with full medical benefits, paid time off, holidays, 401k and more. Weekend shifts in rotation may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program/school, or a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant
  • Medical Assistant Certification (or attain Certification within 90 days from employment start date.) If MA Certification is not attained in the 90 day period, employee will be required to change job roles and be redeployed to a different office/specialty per business need
  • Current CPR card for Healthcare Professionals (BLS) or willing to obtain 
  • 2 years of back office Medical Assistant experience
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant performing front and clinical back office duties including phlebotomy, injections, obtaining vital signs and recording medical history
  • MD office work experience
  • Knowledge of Epic EMR software
  • Bi-lingual - Spanish
