Primary Responsibilities:

• Leader within a team of accountants supporting the UnitedHealthcare Dental business
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and various analytics prepared by the accounting staff
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Manage various special projects & initiatives for senior management, including system upgrades and migrations
• Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborate with other cross-functional areas, including Legal, Operations and IT, to proactively monitor business performance
• Support audit, compliance and regulatory requirements by reviewing analytics and requested data from the GL, Sub-ledgers or other data repositories
• Help manage and develop staff members. Set goals, delegate tasks, track performance and provide feedback

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting or finance
• 5 years of professional accounting experience
• Expert level of understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA and/or MBA 
• Public accounting experience
• Supervisory experience
• Experience with Hyperion SmartView / Essbase, Peoplesoft, Blackline
• SQL and/or SAS skills and experience working with large databases
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
