United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County invests in over 200 programs at over 100 local nonprofits and community wide initiatives that improve lives. In 2023, United Way raised over $57 million!
Summary: United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is currently seeking Campaign Coordinators for our 2024 Community Campaign. Campaign Coordinators are temporary, full-time employees that serve as the liaison between United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County and organizations running workplace campaigns. Campaign Coordinators support organization staff in raising visibility of United Way and running successful campaigns. Campaign Coordinators start with United Way on Thursday, August 1st with thorough training, and end their seasonal position on Thursday, December 12th with the close of the Community Campaign.   • Connect with the community by working with business and community leaders, key organization contacts and other United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County staff.

  • Grow skills in fundraising, customer relationship management, project management, non-profit experience, and public speaking during a robust 2-week training program.
  • Strengthen your knowledge of community issues and organizations that address those issues.
  • Develop and use your confidence, executive presence, and leadership abilities.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
  • Directly impact the community by raising money that supports programs that make a difference.
  • Support workplace giving campaigns at an assigned portfolio of accounts.
  • Develop a positive, professional working relationship with the assigned organizations' ambassadors and assist them with planning and conducting a successful campaign.
  • Conduct effective meetings, recap meeting notes and decisions, provide necessary campaign materials, coordinate agency tours and speakers, and support volunteer activities.
  • Present to employee groups of various sizes, both virtually and in-person.
  • Educate your assigned organizations' employees about the impact United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County makes by sharing amazing, heartfelt stories about the people we help.
  • Travel to a variety of local organizations to deliver campaign materials, meet with stakeholders, and pick up campaign pledges throughout campaign.
  • Reach out to organizations not already partnering with United Way to invite them to support the campaign.
  • Achieve assigned dollar and participation goals by your professional interactions, effective follow-up, and timely collection of campaign pledges.
  • Document communications, plans and activities by account to maintain accurate records, detailed date and notes.
  • Provide an evaluation with recommendations for each assigned company, outlining future growth opportunities.

  • Experience in event management, project management or customer service preferred.

  • Ability to apply database management software concepts to practical situations.
  • Proficient with computer applications such as MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, ANDAR, and the internet desired.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relatable work experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable automobile, and auto insurance coverage (mileage is reimbursed).
  • Flexibility to work an occasional night and weekend.
  • The ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds (to deliver campaign materials) and to walk, sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and supervision, and a desire and ability to work as a team.
  • Comfort working in a variety of work environments and cultures - from banking to manufacturing and everything in-between.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with very high demands.
  • Ability to represent United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County in a consistently professional manner.
