United States Bowling Congress is Hiring a Social Media Manager Near Arlington, TX

The United States Bowling Congress utilizes social media to help disseminate information about events and programs, tell bowling stories, and communicate directly with its members and fans of the sport. This includes social media accounts for USBC, Go Bowling, Professional Women’s Bowling Association, Bowlers Journal International, Youth Bowling, Open and Women’s Championships, Bowl for the Cure, and the International Training and Research Center. Combined we manage a total of 30 individual social media platforms across all our brands.

We are looking for a savvy Social Media Manager who can blend creativity, sports knowledge, and social media expertise to produce industry-leading content seen by millions of bowling fans. The Social Media Manager will work with individual account leads, assisting them in developing relevant content to promote the sport of bowling across all platforms in a seamless and integrated way. In addition, they will help evaluate content regularly and pivot strategies when necessary.

This role will coordinate with the brand marketing, event coverage, creative, and public relations teams to help traffic content both through pre-published calendars and sporadic content that unfolds during live events. Several teams will be coordinating email and web content deployment in synchrony with the social team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee approximately 30 social media account content calendars in coordination with content managers and create a roadmap for all internal social media accounts that focuses on long-term goals like reaching new audiences and educating current members.
  • Work as a liaison between the public relations/event coverage teams and marketing teams by managing content scheduling to ensure that metrics are met to maximize content output and minimize posting overlap.
  • Develop SOPs for posting across multiple platforms and implement superior strategies to assist the PR and marketing teams and take better advantage of the opportunities available to increase outreach to bowlers through social media.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends on social media and capitalize on said trends to produce more viral content.
  • Educate the team on updates across social media platforms (including, but not limited to new product launches, algorithm changes, technology hurdles, etc.).
  • Utilize A/B testing and other methods to develop a better understanding of the bowler mindset, and uses these findings to tailor future content to what appeals to the various audiences across multiple channels
  • Pull monthly reports across all content-driven platforms to analyze social and email reach and tailor future campaigns to improve key metrics
  • Responsible for assisting with writing the annual social media business plan and setting goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Marketing, Business Management, Advertising, Communications, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, or a related field
  • At least six years of experience working in the field of social media marketing
  • Ability to use traditional marketing platforms and key Microsoft Office programs
  • Prior experience with digital marketing and analytics solutions including HubSpot, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram TikTok, Google display advertising and marketing automation
  • Other skills required: strong experience creating social content, managing people who do not report to you in a fast-paced environment and leading successful cross-platform projects from start to finish

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet to moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, digital camera, and fax machines
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Additional remarks regarding work environment: Up to 5% travel required
