Imperia Engineering Partners is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Engineers & Constructors, who provides engineering services across the entire asset lifecycle, to include feasibility analysis, conceptual engineering, basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, operations & management, facilities modification & repurposing, and decommissioning.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for leading project coordination of T&D engineering, procurement and construction activities related to outage planning.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads baseline schedule development and outage maintenance efforts.
  • Organizes and leads project planning and scheduling review meetings.
  • Assumes a lead role in schedule updating and analysis effort. Updates and produces various levels of project scheduling reports to meet project management needs (including daily, weekly and monthly).
  • Supports data gathering and produces an initial analysis for schedule baseline development and maintenance data gathering. Validates baseline information.
  • Identifies and assist in analysis of project schedule variances and recommends associated corrective actions. Presents project schedule status to the Project Manager.
  • Conducts or assists in project performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
  • Reviews and verifies material requirements and construction drawings for assigned projects.
  • Verifies inventory availability prior to creating purchase requisitions
  • Maintains required parts lists through the completion of the project.
  • Logically organizes the workflow and makes judgments on durations and resources to accomplish the work.
  • Ensures all required construction documents are complete and available prior to outage.
  • Ensures all required electrical equipment, components and associated bill of materials are ordered and onsite prior to outage, resolves any shortage issues.
  • Ensure materials received meet specifications.
  • Responsible for the oversight of schedule compliance of all parties (engineering, procurement, subcontractors, construction), and technical liaison between engineering and construction.
  • Coordinates all site procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, material delivery schedule tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the field

Skills / Knowledge Required

  • Familiar and experience with electrical substation design and construction
  • Possesses strong computer skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Possesses an understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) including logic development, progress measurement, schedule impact analysis, resource loading/leveling, and schedule risk analysis utilizing scheduling software systems (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc).
  • Able to review and understand engineering, procurement, and construction schedule logic.
  • Able to identify and investigate project schedule variances.
  • Able to utilize drawings and specifications as a basis for structuring the project schedule.
  • Needs to be proactive self-starter.
  • Familiar with scope control and change management and associated implications to project scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to handle large amounts of information and numerous projects at one time
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or Discipline Engineering
  • 2-5 years’ experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with cost management systems and scheduling software.
