United Christian Academy is Hiring an Administrative Assistant - High School Near Rancho Cucamonga, CA

General Description:To assist the High School department with administrative support.To help advance the mission and vision of United Christian Academy.

Reports to: High School Principal

Qualifications:

  • Must be a born-again Christian.
  • Must be a credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Bible.
  • Must be able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith and Statement of Conduct.
  • Must be a member of an evangelical, Bible-believing church.
  • Must have sufficient health and physical endurance to be able to complete the assigned responsibilities.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and ability to learn FACTS and Canvas (web-based school management software)
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proper command of the English language.
  • Able to work well independently, manage time well, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Must have strong organizational skills for filing and detailed project assignments.
  • Maintains a workspace environment that is conducive to productive school office.
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate.
  • TB clearance within the last four years.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance.
  • Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986: An Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) will be required along with the supporting documents listed on the I-9 form.

Domain 1: Personal & Spiritual Responsibilities

1.1 Display a personal decorum that models professionalism, modesty, and good taste

1.2 Model Christian virtues in attitude, speech, and action

  • Exhibit the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22,23)
  • Model and cultivate habits of prayer, faith, and encouragement
  • Commit and contribute to a local church 

1.3 Maintain good attendance and physical endurance to fulfill job duties

1.4 Use professional office and phone etiquette appropriate for Christian school office

  • Show positive, cheerful attitude with parents, students and staff
  • Show integrity in dealing with confidential information
  • Provide assistance to guests, faculty and staff, parents and students

Domain 2: High School Administrative Responsibilities

2.1 High School Office

  • Answer telephone and assist callers directed to the High School office
  • Prepare mailings & email communication to High School families (GroupMe, Parent Square & other platforms)
  • Assist teachers and staff with copying and filing projects
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Prepare all forms necessary for High School office operations

2.2 Administrative Assistant to High School Principal

  • Create Specialize Schedules for High School students
  • Manage Principal’s daily schedule/calendar
  • Staff meetings – Meeting prep & note taking (as needed)
  • Assist the High School Instructional Specialist with team building/planning
  • Assist the High School Academic Support Program Teacher
  • Order supplies as needed
  • Organize/order/reserve items for all High School awards ceremony

2.3 Event Planning

  •  Collaborate with Event Coordinator to ensure High School activities are planned and organized
  • Attend award ceremonies and graduation

2.4 Parent-Teacher Conferences

  • Prepare Parent/Teacher Conference paperwork for teachers

2.5 Staff/Student Recognition

  • Create & track weekly birthday for High School staff and students
  • Monitor awards given out during chapel & awards that are sent home monthly
  • Prepare Attendance Award percentages for the rallies
  • Organize/order/reserve spirit teams, awards, recognition, etc.
  • Organize Lunch with the Principal for High School students

2.6 High School Yearbook

  • Assist the HS Yearbook coordinator (as needed)

2.7 Miscellaneous Office Operations

  • Other duties as assigned by the High School principal

Work Schedule & Pay Scale:

10 Month Academic School Year (August - May) plus two weeks

Full-time equivalency: 1.0

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Standing/walking (20%), sitting (60%), lifting (5%), climbing (5%), bending (4%), squatting (6%). Must be able to lift 10-25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment includes indoor and outdoor environments and office and classroom settings. Floating desk assignment and/or shared office space may be required; moderate noise levels commensurate to an office environment.
