Job Description

The Inventory Specialist works directly with other departments to ensure all operational processes provide a high degree of inventory accuracy, working with manufacturing, warehousing, and other business partners as it relates to inventory management and controls. The Inventory Specialist will assist with Cycle Count and Physical and Virtual Inventory activities, will serve as the Point of Contact (POC) to facilitate the communication and data collection between all critical stakeholders within the organization. This position is essential for optimizing inventory accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works closely with Inventory Supervisor and Inventory control team to ensure proper inventory levels
• Ensure ongoing inventory accuracy
• Ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review.
• Look for new ways and continue to drive the Continuous Improvement process
• Analyzes and, when able, corrects cycle count discrepancies.
• Confirm validity of transactions by checking items and quantities transacted are accurate as shown on the ERP system.
• Review inventory reconciliations related to all inventory in physical and virtual locations, including raw material, WIP, finished goods and semi-finished goods
• Locate and count materials for stock checks, labeling, expiration dates, etc.
• Overseeing regular cycle counts are taking place as outlined in our procedures.
• Identifies inventory discrepancies, investigates potential causes, and recommends corrective action.
• Checks and maintains accurate inventory labeling.
• Reports all aspects of inventory to the Inventory Supervisor including but not limited to expiring, damage, inventory accuracy, and overstock.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good communication skills with fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Good math skills including units of ratio, percentages, and basic math.
• Fluent computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel),
• Experience with manufacturing/distribution ERP software.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely and/or elevate to upper management as needed.
• Self-starter and ability to hold others accountable in following processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, inventory or distribution environments is critical.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Education & Experience

• HS Diploma
• Some College, preferred
• WH Experience, preferred
