Position Title: Compliance Analyst

Reports to: Head of Legal Department

Job Summary:

Unipec America, Inc. is looking for a self-starter, entry-level Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Compliance Team is looking to hire someone who is detailed-oriented, cooperative, organized, and has excellent English writing skills. 

The Compliance Analyst will assist the Compliance team in executing its Compliance responsibilities, including record keeping, preparing spreadsheets and reports for audits, monitoring US government agency websites and reporting updates, employee training, drafting policies and procedures, compliance due diligence review on vessels, new counterparties and intermediaries. 

The Compliance Analyst will work for the Legal & Compliance Department which may include training with the Contracts team to understand more about our business. 

This role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities: 

Responsibilities: 

• Maintain a database for compliance. Record keeping will include but not be limited to compliance training of employees, due diligence review of counterparties, vessel vetting, compliance approvals, preparation and updating of compliance policies and procedures.
• Send compliance training to employees, making sure that all employees receive the compliance training materials and sign the acknowledgement forms. Follow up and keep records.
• Review US authorities’ websites. Screen against our company counterparties list and report any impact. 
• Perform administrative tasks such as: overseeing subscriptions, preparing invoices and reports for approval, preparing spreadsheets and reports for audits and maintaining records for the Legal & Compliance Department. 
• Assist with inbound and outbound compliance forms and due diligence questionnaire processes. Assist with compliance vetting of vessels, counterparties, and intermediaries. Download reports on compliance database. Prepare reports for approval and maintain records. 
• Assist with preparation of compliance training presentations and record keeping. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Compliance Analyst Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. 
• Excellent English writing skills is a must for this role, second language (Spanish or Chinese) is a plus 
• Strong proofreading skills and keen attention to detail
• Highly organized self-starter with strong multi-tasking skills and ability to deliver high level of quality in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented: ability to work as part of a team with diverse cultural backgrounds
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Achievement-oriented and enjoying to take on challenges 
• Ability to work remotely and at the office location
