Position Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst position is aligned with the Data Insights Team in working to use UBT’s data assets to support decision making, improve operational efficiency, deepen customer relationships, drive product innovation, and mitigate risk. This professional will mine, explore, and analyze internal and external data to discover valuable and actionable insights. Support the Data Warehouse efforts by analyzing business requirements for new data sources, and by validating datasets in the Data Warehouse for accuracy and consistency.

Essential Functions:

• Gather data from a variety of data sources including flat files, SQL databases and cloud applications and prepare for use in reports.
• Develop Power BI Tabular Data Models including the creation of Advanced DAX Measures and Calculated Columns.
• Develop interactive Power BI Reports that clearly communicate a data-driven story to decision-makers.
• Create Paginated reports in Power BI Report Builder / SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Interpret results of data analysis and reports and present this information to management; make recommendations as needed.
• Coordinate with teams across the bank to determine and document business requirements for Data Warehousing projects.
• Support data quality initiatives by validating data loaded into the Data Warehouse is consistent with source systems and satisfies business requirements.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned coverage areas and leverage this expertise to provide insightful takeaways and advice for these areas.
• Manage a backlog of report requests from assigned coverage areas to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Train and mentor junior Business Intelligence Analysts on the team.
• Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
• Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
• Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience in Analytical Field (Data Analytics / Business Intelligence, Computer Science, etc.)
• 2-4 Years of related experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analysis with a proven track record of delivering high quality analytics.
• Expertise in report authoring tools such as Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau, Qlik or MicroStrategy.
• Significant Experience writing SQL queries including concepts like window functions and common table expressions.
• Experience with Data Quality Initiatives such as Master Data Management preferred.
• Financial Services experience preferred.
