JOB SUMMARY:
Has 24-hour accountability for the management of his/her area of responsibility. Responsible for coaching a team, providing leadership and direction. Assuring quality patient care delivered and completed in a timely manner. Continuous monitoring of team and the care provided to ensure safe, quality care is resident focused. Provides professional nursing care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the resident/clients served, and ability to provide care according to departmental policies and procedures. Provides care over an extended time, in various settings, spanning the illness to wellness continuum. Ensures adherence to the Corporate Compliance Policy. May act as the Infection Preventionist responsible for assuring implementation of the facilities infection control program or assign designee. Performs other related duties as deemed competent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required; Master’s preferred
Experience: Clinical; 2 years Geriatric; management and leadership experience preferred
License/Registration: Current NC license - Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
Other: Thorough knowledge of nursing standards, principles and procedures; excellent interpersonal skills; computer knowledge
