UNC Health Blue Ridge is Hiring a Recept-Clerk Near Morganton, NC
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the radiology office supervisor, performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties in the radiology department. Also, assist in transporting patients to and from radiology department. Assists in lifting from stretchers to tables. May assist patients with gowns and robes. Stocks dressing rooms. Performs other related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers phone appropriately and routes to appropriate personnel
- Maintains schedules and appointments for department to ensure efficient utilization of resources
- Schedules appointments for patients according to established procedures
- Anticipates conflicts in schedules, notifying supervisor and/or clinicians of conflicts when booking examinations
- Obtains appropriate data to facilitate accurate interpretation of examination being performed
- Coordinates multiple examinations scheduled with multiple department sections
- Ensures that all incoming patients have been properly registered and appropriate clinical staff are made aware of their arrival
- Ensures that all patients have a written order by a physician that is consistent with the data entered in the radiology information system
- Inputs patient data into the radiology information system in an accurate and complete manner as indicated by work area procedures
- Obtains and prepares files for release to requesting facilities/physicians in compliance with release of information policies

- Consults posted call schedules to contact technologist or radiologist as needed during on-call or emergency situations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: Medical Terminology; experience in hospital or related setting; Prefer prior health care experience.
Other: Ability to type accurately using a computer; ability to enter computer data and operate a variety of software applications; ability to follow oral and written communication. Must be congenial and courteous during all interactions with others.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Range of motion within functional limits. Functional vision and hearing. Frequent sitting. Occasional standing/walking, lifting items from floor to shoulder height of 10 pounds. Frequent manipulation skills, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, both handedness (both hands mush be used), visual color discrimination and visual depth perception. Occasional squatting/crouching. Occasionally pushing 40 pounds, pulling 80#.Location: UNC Health Blue Ridge · Radiology Diagnostics- Valdese
Schedule: Full Time, Flexible to work any shift, 8:30am - 5:00pm
