Description

Summary:

Expedites flow of material, parts and assemblies within or between departments. ensuring compliance with company policies and product specifications. Embraces and exemplifies the Umbra Group values of FIRST – Focus on the Customer, Innovation, Respect, Social Responsibility & Teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs logistics processes and procedures with efficiency and accuracy, partnering with Lead and team to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Works in all areas of logistics, providing support for key areas including shipping, receiving and inventory. 
  • Ensures compliance with customer requirements and the Quality Management System.
  • Collects and organizes information related to logistics activities, preparing reports for the Supply Chain team.
  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage areas.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Prepares incoming and outgoing parts and products. 
  • Maintain regular inventory audits and inventory accuracy using cycle counts per part.
  • Support shop floor logistics by reviewing and taking actions on component availability issues between purchasing, receiving, receiving inspection, and production to maximize customer service
  • Participate in lean manufacturing and cost reduction activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or completion of manufacturing-related vocational training with one to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certificates and Licenses:
  • Forklift certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. 

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to use data-collection hardware and software and translate collected data into meaningful results. 
  • Must also have proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet and email software applications.

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to draw, analyze and interpret data into graphical representations, such as a bar graph or pie chart.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions are of a typical factory and product manufacturing environment and its equipment including occasionally noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Safety glasses and are required when on the shop floor.
