Ultimaker is Hiring an Electronics Technician Near Brooklyn, NY

We're looking for an Electronics Technician at MakerBot who will support our electrical and mechanical engineers in the architecture, design, prototyping, and testing of next-generation MakerBot products.

Location: Brooklyn, NY

As an Electronics Technician, you will:

  • help debug and test electronic circuits and systems
  • build and evaluate prototype cables, circuit boards, and electronics test fixtures
  • coordinate with mechanical and firmware teams to support new product development
  • research, evaluate and document components and electronics concepts
  • help create, execute and present test plans and interpret results
  • support the development of new product platforms through rapid prototyping and component validation

As an Electronics Technician, you have:

  • 2 year Associates Degree in electronics, or similar
  • 2 years of relevant work or military experience can substitute

Preferred Qualifications:

  • expertise with electrical testing and measurement tools including DMMs, Oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
  • ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
  • excellent soldering/assembly skills for surface mount, through hole and cabling components
  • some programming or embedded system experience (i.e. Python, Arduino or similar) would be a plus!
  • strong attention to detail
  • flexibility and the ability to track several tasks at once
  • excellent communication skills
  • spoken/written English
  • passion for electronics and 3D printing
  • Positive attitude, infectious enthusiasm, and energy!

Extra experience counts too!

  • Professional experience with 3D printing or MakerBot is a significant plus
  • IPC/Soldering Certification is also a significant plus
