Responsibilities

The UM Coordinator is responsible for calling or faxing insurance providers to report discharges from inpatient, along with step-downs. The clerk is responsible for filing within the UM department. The coordinator is responsible for completing data entry within both the MS4 and Midas databases for specific UM and social services data. The coordinator will be responsible for faxing, emailing or online input of precertifications and concurrent reviews. The UM Coordinator will be responsible for back up to assist our remote physicians if need be and also to be back up for patient advocacy.

Since 1983, Valle Vista Health System, a 132 bed facility located in Greenwood, Indiana, has been providing high-quality behavioral health care to the community. We offer care for a broad range of psychiatric and addiction disorders. We provide care to adults, and to patients as young as age five. Our programs include inpatient, outpatient and medication-assisted treatment for adults, and residential and inpatient treatment for children and adolescents. These programs are designed to help adults, children and teens learn the necessary skills to regain confidence, heal and successfully function at home, work, school and in
their communities.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure: Medical assistant certificate.

Experience: Previous experience, preferably in a heath care environment, or a combination of education, training, or experience in patient insurance, chart filing, medical records, and telephone consultation.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Must be proficient with spreadsheet applications, database entry, medical chart organization, and some behavioral health terminology knowledge.
