UHS is Hiring a SCHEDULING CLERK/COORD Near MCALLEN, TX

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs the primary function of surgical posting specialist by demonstrating knowledge in computer software, coding, surgical procedures, billing, charging and supply management. The surgical posting specialist shall manage all personnel functions related to computerized information system. They oversee staff scheduling, journaling, and charging activities. The surgical posting specialist designs and assures production and distribution of end-of month utility programs and reports. Provides Director with analytical reports to evaluate surgery performance and maintains surgery item master list. The surgical posting specialist is responsible in overseeing the OR daily schedule by scheduling operative cases, obtaining and entering pertinent information about the patient scheduled for surgery and collects and distributes special insurance information for the admitting department. The surgical posting specialist routinely works Monday through Friday, and can be assigned to work after hours if needed. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Verbal ability is required to communicate effectively with other staff members and hospital personnel
  2. Computer/Typing skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office. Able to create spreadsheets in Excel.
  3. Experience in clerical duties preferred, training will be provided
  4. Willingness to be cross trained to other areas
  5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

  1. High School graduate/GED.
