Gulfport Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility):

Located on the beautiful MS Gulf Coast Gulfport Behavioral Health System is a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering child, adolescent, adult, substance abuse, and military service behavioral health programs and treatment services. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for those seeking treatment for mental illness.

Position Summary:

Join a team where the Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. There are opportunities to work with other patient populations including children, adolescents and adults. Our nurses work 12 hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with some rotating weekends.

Walk-In Wednesdays - Interviews for RNs on Wednesday from 9am-12pm. Just drop in and ask to speak to Cynthia Render-Leach in Human Resources. Ask about our new Premium Pay RN or PRN positions!

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred. Prior military service or related military background strongly preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and CPI certification (Management of Aggressive Behavior) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures. Training can be obtained during new hire orientation.

Hours:  12-hour shifts, 7P - 7A. Rotating weekends.
