The Psychiatric Institute of Washington is a 130-bed facility with inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. Excellence in behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults has been the mission of The Psychiatric Institute of Washington since it opened nearly 50 years ago. BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for supervising and providing direct patient care to children, adolescents, and adults form the ages of 5-65 that is congruent with the philosophy and standards of practice defined by the Nursing Department. Provides supervision for the provision of all nursing care provided hospital-wide and participates in the hospital admission system for the purpose of coordination patient requirements for nursing care with available nursing resources in conjunction with Nurse Manager. Internally, the incumbent will interface with hospital management, staff, and patients. Externally, the incumbent will interface with licensing and accrediting agencies, family members, and healthcare treatment agencies.

Work Schedule:

8 Hours shifts during week days (3 days/week) and 12 hours shifts weekends

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited program or currently enrolled in BSN program. 
• Current license to practice nursing in the District of Colombia.
• Current CPR Certification. 
• Four years experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting with clinical and administrative responsibilities, two of which are in a supervisory position.
• Candidates must meet the company’s hiring criteria to include a pre-employment verifications, background investigation and drug test.
