Responsibilities

Coastal Harbor Health Systems is looking for a Fulltime Recreational Therapist to join our team in October: 

Plan, organize, and lead the recreation programs. Assist with direct client care.

1. Assess client leisure needs and develop behavioral treatment plans, goals, and interventions which are goal focused and evidence based.
2. Document  assigned client’s progress on a weekly basis in a timely manner. Develop a weekly schedule of planned client activities.
3. Work with RT coordinator in monitoring RT programming to ensure programming is well balanced, coordinated and goal centered.
4. Aide in the further development and maintenance of performance improvement through program evaluation and clinical indicators to ensure quality programming.
5. Identify weaknesses in programming and develop problem solving solutions and strategies to strengthen the department as well as
6. Assist in the day-to-day monitoring of the client population.
7. Ensure coverage and scheduling of Recreation Therapy staffing and Coastal Behavioral Health to make sure all groups are staffed and conducted in a  timely manner.
8. Assist in monitoring employee compliance with all CHHS policies and directives assigned by the RT coordinator, reporting any deficiencies to the RT coordinator.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; must have CTRS certification or be scheduled to take next exam upon hire.

After completing interview and job offer, new hire must be able to to attend a full week hospital orientation to the facility.
