About Rivendell:

Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital is a 125 inpatient, Joint Commission accredited hospital. We are located on a 48 acre private campus in the heart of Bowling Green, KY. At Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital, children who are in crisis receive psychiatric care. Teens suffering from depression, disabling anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or suicide can learn new ways to cope. Teens and adults suffering from chemical dependency and substance abuse can get help.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services and also in coordination with the Director of Nursing/Nurse Manager the Clinical Program Director evaluates, monitors, oversees the implementation of programs and oversees the day to day clinical programming of the unit(s). The Clinical Program Director will also assist the Nurse Manager in providing supervision to all staff members working and providing services to patients. The Clinical Program Director will also assist in the development and implementation of activities to carry out the organizational objectives as to the provision of patient care services, attainment of established financial and operational goals, and participation in promotion of community mental health. The Clinical Program Director will also be responsible for helping develop, implement, and maintain evidenced based treatment models used within their programs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in developing short and long range management and organization plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with established goals and objectives.
  1. Functions as liaison between families, referral sources, agencies, schools, and the hospital when conflicts arise.
  1. Establishes and maintains an atmosphere of mutual trust and support. Assist with the recruiting, training, and supervision of staff in all aspects as it relates to their job position. This includes planning, directing and evaluating staffs’ work and taking corrective action when necessary as dictated by the employee personnel manual and in coordination with the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager. Increasing staff productivity and growth through professional role modeling of expectations. Influences staff toward achievement of goals.
  1. Assist with planning and chairing Program Evaluation Committee. Attends and participates in Clinical Leadership, Performance Improvement and other hospital meetings/committees as needed (Clinical team, Chart Audit team, Clinical Pertinence, PI teams, quarterly reporting of Patient/Family Education, and Discharge Planning). Coordinates delivery of care with hospital departments and actively participates in on-going development of quality programming. Will be responsible for maintaining the fidelity standards of the evidenced base models being utilized in the Crossroads and Trust program through the training and observation of all staff working the program. Ensures that appropriate supplies are maintained for programs.
  1. Clinical Responsibilities:
    1. Assist the hospital in providing coverage for therapists due to vacation, sick leave or training.
    2. Assist in the coverage of group therapies when conflicts arise.
    3. Assist in providing coverage for cases as needed due to census fluctuations.
  1. Attends meetings to provide pertinent information related to clinical services and the provisions of quality health care.
  1. Responsible for maintaining accreditation standards of the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid and any other pertinent organization.
  1. Assists in the operations of physical facilities and property to retain a good state of repair and operating condition.
  1. Shall review charts to determine appropriateness of psychological, histories, treatment planning and other documentation.
  1. Will assist in ensuring that all clinical programs are in compliance with Office of Inspector General (OIG) as well as Joint Commission and with all State and Federal Regulations.
  1. Will provide assistance as needed with outpatient programs, including Medication Management, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Partial Hospitalization Programs, and Traditional Outpatient.
  1. All other assigned duties and responsibilities.
  1. Will adhere to all safety policies and safe work practices.
  1. Will attend hospital safety trainings.
  1. Will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  1. Will assist in the annual review of safety policies for your department to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital practice.
  1. Annually will assist in setting safety goals for your department and review every 6 months for compliance.
  1. Report all accident immediately and provide effective timely corrective action on all accidents.
  1. Ensure departmental safe work practice.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be a Masters Level Clinician with License and/or Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor from an accredited university and current licensure or certification by the appropriate Professional Board in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Additional experience in administration/supervision within the Healthcare field is preferred, but not necessary.

Knowledge Required: Proven ability in the following areas: Supervision of personnel, training of personnel, record management, regulatory compliance, program development, team building skills, development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, development of positive employee relations program and negotiating contracts with various agencies. Two years working experience in clinical services. Must also have a thorough knowledge of standards and regulations of hospital and laws applicable to mental health treatment.
