Job Overview:

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through service excellence, clinical services, education of patients, staff and colleagues, and integrated drug distribution. The clinical pharmacist provides clinical services within the scope and polices of the hospital by the monitoring drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, adverse reactions and appropriateness of drug, dosage form, regimen, route, and therapeutic duplications. The clinical pharmacist will regularly profile patient medication orders, and support distributive functions as needed. The clinical pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff; compounds IV admixtures when a pharmacy technician is unavailable. The clinical pharmacist shall possess characteristics to successfully fulfill their responsibilities including, effective communication, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative, cooperation, and high level of knowledge and skills applicable to their area of practice. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy the clinical staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelors Degree in pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.Experience: 0-1 yrs minimum, 3 yrs preferred in acute care setting Training: Experience with automated dispensing machines Licensure: Current Florida licensureOther: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills requiredBoard certification preferred
