UHS is Hiring a Nurse Manager Near BROOKLINE, MA

Responsibilities

The nurse manager is responsible for managing the daily operations and nursing care in line with clinical practice standards of units they are assigned. The Nurse Manager is responsible for Nursing staff and related medical support staff including RNs and MHAs.

Essential Duties:

  1. Oversees clinical nursing care, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical record documentation.
  2. Provides direct supervision to nurses and subordinate staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health. Serves as key problem-solving resource for staff on patient issues. Studies patient needs/trends and suggests solutions to ongoing patient care problems.
  3. Collaborates with CNO/supervisors on development and implementation of nursing department’s mission, goals, policies, procedures, budget quality assurance plan, and work standards.
  4. Compiles/analyzes data on patient outcomes, quality assurance results, budget/goal achievement, and performance/productivity and prepares reports for administration.
  5. Participates in team planning related to clinic and emergency/disaster response system.
  6. Analyzes staffing patterns with CNO/HR Director. Maintains required NCHs for unit. Collaborates with human resources department on recruiting, selecting & orienting/training
  7. Conducts performance review meetings, regularly provides feedback and coaching and is responsible for the overall development and succession planning of the staff
  8. Active committee participant for unit base & hospital
  9. Perform other duties as assigned/required
  10. Act as house coverage/rotation when required
  11. Collaborates with other disciplines to affect positive patient outcomes.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional nursing experience
  • 2 years supervisory-level experience preferred
  • Current state MA license. Current CPR certificate
