Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Position Summary: Responsible for the safety of assigned unit environment & patient population by conducting visual observations of patients, monitoring V/S and reporting abnormalities to RN STAT, per physician?s orders to include appropriate documentation. Performs and documents searches & belongings inventories according to policy.
Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency
• 2 year college (Behavioral Science or Nursing) or Emergency Medical Technician preferred
• Prefer 1 yr in a JCAHO accredited hospital on a psychiatric or chemical dependency unit as a psychiatric aide, mental health worker or technician
• Must be able to identify and address the special needs for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and communicate with the patient
• Ability to work as member of an interdisciplinary team
• Able to work with patients at all levels of functional ability and from diverse backgrounds BLS (AHA CPR) course completion before hire
