Full Time Certified Coder Position

Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program offering psychiatric day treatment for adults and an Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program offering day and evening sessions. 

Three Rivers Behavioral Health is seeking a Full Time Certified Coder to be a part of our Medical Records Team.

The Medical Records Coder will support the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services. The coder will also analyze and abstract clinical data by assigning codes from the patient records in accordance to coding classification systems. Reviews patient encounters, queries physicians when needed, and identifies and reports issues. Assigns ICD-10-CM codes, creates DRG group assignments and ensures that codes are accurate and relevant to the patient encounter. Codes inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient charts and assists in preparing and submitting charts required for Precyse Medicare audits. The Medical Records Coder is also responsible for assembly and analysis of discharge medical records & reviews records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Medical Records Coder position: 

• RHIT under AHIMA or CPC under AAPC or CCA Accreditation required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Two years experience
• Knowledge of current Joint Commission requirements, CMS, HIPAA, and other laws and statues concerning the maintenance and release of medical records preferred.
