River Crest Hospital (a UHS facility):

River Crest Hospital is a modern, 80-bed psychiatric hospital, specializing in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders that can afflict individuals of all ages, from children and teens, to adults and the elderly. For over 30-years, we have been providing the surrounding San Angelo community acute inpatient, outpatient, and addiction treatment programs.

Position Summary:

The Director of Intake & Referral is accountable for directing the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility. As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of Assessment & Referral Counselors in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, functions as a liaison with other hospital intake departments. Monitors and assures timely completion of the Core Measures (HBIPS) Abstraction Tool for all admissions.

Sign-on bonus: $5,000 with commitment

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, or related field required. Will also consider candidates that possess a graduation from an accredited program of professional nursing.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.

Must have strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff, ensuring proper employee performance management.

Licensure: R.N., L.C.S.W., L.M.S.W., LPC or applicable license.

Additional Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Trained CPI and CPR.
