Dietary Aide

The pay range for this position is $17.00-$21.00 Dependent on experience.

WORK HOURS:

• M-T: 8:00AM - 4:30PM
• W: 10:30AM - 7:00PM
• TH-F: 6:00AM - 2:30PM

Under direct supervision, this position consists of preparing food for patients, hospital and medical staff, and maintaining the Food Services Department in a sanitary manner.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. Helps prepare and serve food for patients, cafeteria and medical staff.
2. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions of work area.
3. Performs related duties as assigned.
4. Collaborates with hospital personnel and medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
5. Promotes a positive working environment and guest relations.
6. Promotes safety by attending mandatory in services and complies with all safety measures initiated by the facility

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

1. Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions;
2. Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on ethical principles;
3. Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures;
4. Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion;
5. Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads an work assignments on a constant basis;
6. Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A High School education or equivalent is preferred. Experience in food service work required, and experience in an institutional food service facility is preferred.
