UHS is Hiring a Cook - 11:30am-8:00pm Near RENO, NV

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to support the efforts of the dietary department in the preparation of food for patients, staff and visitors. This position participates in ordering, planning, prepping, cooking, inventory management, staff oversight, training, mentoring, sanitation and general cleaning.

The job duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  1. Operates kitchen equipment: can demonstrate methods of sanitary food preparation, cooking, and baking.
  2. Demonstrates and takes personal ownership in the success of the Dietary Department and Willow Springs Center.
  3. Serves as a role model for the behavior that is expected of dietary staff at Willow Springs Center.
  4. Cleans and maintains all kitchen appliances, reports issues or concerns to Manager and/or Lead who are to notify Plant Operations for repair as needed.
  5. Works with Department Manager and Lead to learn menu items, meal preparation, departmental organization and staff safety.

Qualifications

Education: High School or equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year of demonstrated responsible food service experience preparing bulk meals.

Certification: ServSafe certification acquired within 30 days of hire.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements may be considered.
