UHS is Hiring a CALL CENTER SPECIALIST Near SHREVEPORT, LA

Responsibilities

The Call Specialist Receives intake calls and unplanned individual/ family walk-ins with compassion, empathy, a sense of service and urgency, and to insure each person receives an appropriate assessment by intake or referral. Thorough and accurate documentation of calls and other intake related paperwork is a critical component of the job.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Answers telephone within 3 rings using the appropriate greeting and attempts to obtain all pertinent clinical, demographic and insurance information from the caller to determine caller’s needs.
  2. Performs telephonic risk assessment to determine level of suicidality/homicidally with caller in crisis; Utilizes the 911 emergency systems whenever a caller is at serious risk to harm self or others.
  3. Accurately and thoroughly completes Inquiry Call Sheet (ICS) to include obtained information and outcome of telephonic assessment.
  4. Schedules assessments, psychiatric evaluations and admissions with potential patient/referral source; Explains the evaluation and admission process to the potential patient/referral source and informs patient of necessary items to bring for hospital stay.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Social Services field required.

EXPERIENCE: Prefer knowledge of crises intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomatology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, evenings and nights.
