Responsibilities

Northwest School of Innovative Learning (a UHS facility):

Northwest School of Innovative Learning, is a behavioral, therapeutic and academic learning program designed for students from kindergarten through high school who are unable to successfully navigate traditional school settings. We offer a comprehensive and therapeutic program that helps meet the academic, special education, and behavioral health needs of students from school districts throughout the Puget Sound region. A full academic curriculum is individually tailored, along with therapeutic treatment needs.

Position Summary:

The School Therapist performs social service functions. This includes assisting students in meeting their biopsychosocial needs using therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. The School Therapist will provide basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for students/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, individual and group therapy, medication management, and provide information and referrals as needed. Responsible for personal and Corporate Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Counseling, Social Work or a clinical related mental health field

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health care setting, with direct experience in individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skill is preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills.

License: Must be state certified in social work or clinical related mental health field.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and First Aid certification. Successful completion of Handle With Care (HWC) and verbal de-escalation training. Successful completion of orientation training. May be required to work flexible hours. May require some travel.
